Essay contest on the topic "My Volunteer Role in Environmental Protection"

The EIEC, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Government of Sweden, within the framework of the Governance Reform Fund (GRF) project, is announcing the contest on the topic "My Volunteer Role in Environmental Protection."

Terms of participation in the contest:
The contest is open for students in IX-XII grades throughout Georgia who are interested in environmental issues, realize the importance of environmental education, are involved in environmental activities, and are in the process of receiving and spreading environmental education.


Evaluation criteria 
•        Relevance to the topic
•        Knowledge in environmental issues
•        Submission activities in the environmental field
•        Presentation activities in the environmental field
•        formation of one's own or creative opinions, vision, and opinion;
•        the ability to convey thoughts succinctly;
•        The text must be grammatically correct; environmental issues, realize the importance of environmental education, are involved in environmental activities, and are in the process of receiving and spreading environmental education.

Other details regarding the contest
•       The paper should be submitted as a Word file (font: Sylfaen, font size: 11, spacing: 1.15);
•       Essay volume: up to 500-1000 words (2–3 pages);
•      The essay should include the author's name, surname, age, grade, school name, city or village, mobile phone number, and email address.

The essays need to be sent to the following address  - info@eiec.gov.ge, 
Please indicate ‘Essay Contest’’ in the subject line.
The deadline is December 6.

The essays will be evaluated by the special commission according to predetermined criteria.
The winners will be revealed at the final event of the contest and will be awarded prizes.

International Volunteer Day, established by the UN General Assembly in 1985, is celebrated on December 5 throughout the world. Every year, most volunteers participate in environmental events.

The aim of the EIEC is to promote the integrated perception of environmental challenges and the formation of environment-friendly behaviors and attitudes among young people.
