The forest is my friend: a contest for the best scenario

The United Nations Development Programme and the Environmental Information and Education Centre under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia announce a contest for the best scenario of the 2nd episode of the animated manga "The Forest is My Friend" for the eco clubs and schools of Tbilisi and Mtskheta municipalities.

The animated manga "The Forest is My Friend" was created within the UN Development Programme project "Implementation of sustainable and eco-friendly forest management principles", which is implemented in cooperation with the National Forestry Agency under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and with the financial support of the Japanese government.

The animated film tells the story of a warrior girl and a wooden log who meet each other in a fight between humans and the forest, along with the development of the story they discover a lot in common, become friends, and decide to find the missing link between humans and the forest together.

Students of eco clubs and secondary schools in Tbilisi and Mtskheta municipalities can take part in the contest both as a group and individually.

The format of the presented scenario can be both text and drawing in PDF format.
Based on the contest, the three best scenarios will be selected for the continuation of the animation.
Selection criteria
• Creativity
• Emphasis on the importance of the forest and the need for its protection
• A logical link to the first part of the animation
Three winning screenwriters or writers' groups will be awarded 1,000 GEL gift vouchers.
The deadline for submission of tender materials is March 10, 2023.
