Modernization of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) systems related to agriculture in Georgia (VET phase 2)

Project objectives

Objective of the projetc is to strengthen the institutional capacity of LEPL `Environmental Information and Education Centre` (EIEC) of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and to provide support to introducing the training/retraining mechanisms in the field of agriculture, including setting-up quality assurance mechanisms based on international best practices and capacity building of the EIEC staff.

Outputs

1. EIEC institutionally strengthened to oversee the development of effective mechanisms for knowledge
and information transfer in agriculture.
2. Output 2: Implementation of the Agriculture Knowledge and Information System (AKIS) supported.
3. Mechanisms developed within EIEC for implementation of training / retraining programs within the concept of Life-Long Learning for farmers.
4. Information system developed to support cooperation and information dissemination between farmers and Information and Consultation Services (extension services) of MEPA.
