Contest for community organizations: "Create a safe community"

!! Due to the large number of applicants for the contes , the deadline for applications has been postponed to November 19, 2021.

The Eiec, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), is announcing a contest for community organizations under the project "Reducing the Risks of Climate Driven Disasters in Georgia" - "Create a Safe Community".

The aim of the competition is to help reduce the impact of natural threats caused by climate change at the local level, to strengthen the resilience of the community with the maximum involvement of stakeholders and to raise knowledge and awareness about natural disasters. 

The submitted project should be related to one of the 7 natural hazards envisaged by the program (flood, hail, mudslide, landslide, drought, strong wind, avalanche), which is a challenge for both the municipality and the community.

Community organizations of 10 target municipalities of the project (Lagodekhi, Telavi, Akhmeta, Signagi, Gori, Samtredia, Abasha, Senaki, Khobi, Kobuleti) can participate in the contest.

Application procedure

Applicants must submit a complete project application to the Eiec  no later than November 15, 2021, at the following e-mail address: info@eiec.gov.ge (please indicate in the subject line of the letter: "Competition for Community Organizations").

The applicant must submit the following documents to the Eiec: 

* Detailed and itemized budget (in Excel format);
Extract from the public register;

 Summary of all activities implemented within the project; 
* The projects submitted in the competition should reflect only the work of the applicant organization. The plagiarism will result in the immediate disqualification of the organization and the project from the competition. 

All materials and documents submitted within the contest remain at the disposal of the LEPL Eiec. The information provided by the applicant will be used by the Eiec  for review purposes only and will not be shared with outside persons or organizations, except as provided by the legislation of Georgia.

The application deadline is November 15, 2021.

The contest will be held in 2 stages

I  stage- selection

II stage- The presentation of the  project proposal 

Based on the results of both stages, a special commission will identify the winner, who will be awarded $ 4,000 for the project. Contest  projects can be sent by e-mail to: info@eiec.gov.ge Tamar Shervashidze (e-mail: tamar.shervashidze@eiec.gov.ge, phone: 595958825) is the project coordinator.
