The contest "Green Award" for primary school teachers

The Eiec announces the contest  "Green Award," which will identify the best primary school teachers in the field of the environment in Georgia throughout 2020

The "Green Award" for preschool educators has been held since 2018, and from 2020 it will also allow us to identify those primary school teachers who care about creating the right environmental values ​​for future generations. The aim of the competition is to motivate teachers to teach about environmental issues and give them the opportunity to share best practices.

Contest rules:

The ‘’Green Award contest’’  is open to all teachers who are:
Currently employed in a general education institution, teaching elementary school students.

In the learning process, it carries out the teaching of environmental topics in both formal (provided by the program) and informal directions.

The deadline for applications is November 20, 2020.
The contest will be held in 2 stages:
Stage I Selection of applications
Stage II Presentation of the implemented activities

According to the results of both stages, a special commission will reveal the top ten, the winner of which will be awarded the "Green Award."

All members of the ten will be awarded a certificate and souvenirs

Contestant evaluation criteria

Use of effective teaching methods to better study of environmental issues, in particular, teaching the curriculum in an innovative, creative way through a variety of resources and applications)

Use of additional sources and/or author assignments/activities obtained from sources other than the National Curriculum

The use of the natural environment outside of the school, as well as protected areas, in the teaching process;

Additional material inquired and used; environmental training; 

Ensuring community involvement in the environmental education process and its impact on the community; Sharing your own experiences with colleagues; Future plans to improve environmental education;

To participate in the contest, fill in the application form electronically (in word format) , attach photos (if desired) or videos of your activities (in one folder). The video should not be longer than ten minutes.
