Draft Law on Industrial Emission

Please be informed that, on the basis of the Association Agreement between Georgia and the European Union, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia has prepared a draft Law on Industrial Emissions in accordance with the provisions of Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of November 24, 2010. The aim of which is to prevent emissions from air, water, and soil as a result of industrial activities or, where this is practically impossible, to reduce and control emissions as well as prevent the generation of waste.

The draft law defines the rules, conditions, and control over the implementation of integrated permits for industrial activities causing pollution, as well as the rights and responsibilities of state bodies and individuals or legal entities.

Based on the draft law, the Ministry also prepared "On Amendments to the Law of Georgia on Environmental Protection," "On Amendments to the Law of Georgia on Licenses and Permits," "On Amendments to the Waste Management Code," Amendments to the Law of Georgia on License and Permit Fees, Amendments to the Criminal Code of Georgia, Amendments to the Environmental Assessment Code, and Animal Law of Georgia Draft Laws on Amendments to the Law of Georgia on Atmospheric Air Protection.

In order to inform the public, the draft law on industrial emissions and the drafts prepared as a result of the draft law on amendments to the law of Georgia shall be made public.
