The "European Union for the Environment" (EU4Environment) project, funded by the European Union, is currently in progress. Its goals are to assist the six Eastern Partnership countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Georgia, and Armenia) in developing a green economy, reducing environmental risks, and using natural resources wisely.
A draught of a strategic environmental assessment manual was created for Georgia's spatial planning sector within the parameters of the aforementioned project. The purpose of the manual's development is to guarantee the early and efficient integration of environmental protection principles and approaches in spatial strategic documents, to effectively implement the strategic environmental assessment (SEA) procedure, and to encourage sustainable spatial development when applied in Georgia's spatial planning sector.
The comments and opinions regarding the draft of the mentioned manual should be sent to the LEPL National Environment Agency by November 20, 2023, by e-mail to eia@mepa.gov.ge.
