Public hearing of the project management plan for the Batsara-Babaneuri protected areas

On February 21, 2024, at 12:00, a public hearing of the draft management plan for Batsara-Babaneuri protected areas will be held at the Agency of Protected Areas (address: Vladimir Tsitlanadze 1).

The project of the management plan of Batsara-Babaneuri protected areas was prepared within the grant agreement signed between the governments of Georgia and Sweden, with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Agency's (SIDA) project "Save Nature, Georgia.".

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the Agency of Protected Areas, the Administration of Protected Areas of Batsara-Babaneuri, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders participated in the preparation of the document by the national consultant team of "Ekotoni," a non-governmental organization.

As authorized by Order #110 of the Georgia Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection dated March 12, 2014, the management plan was created in compliance with the provisions of the Law of Georgia "On the System of Protected Areas" as well as the stages and procedures for the preparation of the methodology for the development of the protected area management plan's structure, content, and thematic sections.

The objective of the management plan is to define long-term goals and appropriate management approaches for protected areas.

After the public hearing of the document, comments and recommendations provided by stakeholders will be reflected in the final version of the document as much as possible.
