The topic of establishing a hunting farm on a 625-hectare plot of land in the Jumati forest area of the state forest area of Lanchkhuti municipality was discussed with community representatives at a meeting held in the town hall of Lanchkhuti on March 27, 2024. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, along with the City Hall of Lanchkhuti Municipality, organized the meeting. The meeting's premise was the "Union of Georgian Hunters"' petition to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia's National Environmental Agency over the auction announcement for the issuance of a special hunting license.
The representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and relevant agencies included in its system, the Deputy State Commissioner in the Guria region and the Mayor of Lanchkhuti Municipality, as well as other representatives of local self-government bodies and interested society, including residents and hunters, took part in the review process. The people in attendance received thorough information on all concerns and inquiries about the special hunting license.
Furthermore, it was noted that a further meeting with the villagers residing in the villages bordering the hunting-farming region was necessary. This meeting is scheduled for April 12, 2024, at 12:00 in the hamlet of Nigvzian, Lanchkhuti municipality.
