Educational program “School of Eco Leaders 2020” launched by The Environmental Information and Education Centre (EIEC) of The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia has ended. After the online seminars and educational tours, the Director of EIEC awarded participants with certificates.
Webinars in “School of Eco Leaders” lasted for three months. Along with the representatives of The Ministry, lectures for the students were led by invited experts. In the final week of the educational course, a cognitive tour has been held.
Within the framework of the project, 13 webinars have been conducted. Lectures included topics such as human environmental rights, waste management policy, sustainable development goals, environmental policy, climate change, ambient air, soil degradation and combat desertification, mechanisms to protect biodiversity, public relations and planning environmental awareness-raising campaigns, current conservation projects, photography and environment protection.
“School of Eco Leaders” is an educational course elaborated by EIEC that aims to teach young generation environmental issues and raise their awareness in this field. The project has been implemented all over the country and was participated by students of classes 9 to 12. Participants of the course were selected based on the competition results.
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia conducts educational activities remotely. “School of Eco Leaders” for students interested in environmental issues will take place annually.
