Legal Entity of Public Law - Environmental Information and Education Center of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia continues an informational campaign that intends to hold trainings ,, Environmental Democracy - human rights and responsibilities’’ in the whole country.
Within the campaign, participants of the Green Camp for Young Leaders and Innovators organized by CENN visited the Environmental Information and Education Centre.
The director of the Environmental Information and Education Centre Tamar Aladashvili met the students and spoke to them about the implementation of the responsibilities imposed by the Aarhus Convention and the role of human environmental rights and accessibility on the environmental information.
Implementation of the above-mentioned trainings aims to facilitate the implementation of the commitments of the Aarhus Convention. The Aarhus Convention which member Georgia has became in 2001, obligates the signatory countries to provide the availability of environmental information, the participation of the society in the decision-making process and access to justice in this field.
The Environmental Information and Education Centre will continue to hold the trainings regarding human environmental rights and responsibilities until the end of 2019.
The Green Camp is held by the support of the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural development.
The main aim of this camp is to improve the accessibility on the knowledge for the youth toward the environment protection, sustainable development, science and technologies.
