The GCF-Project meeting was held in Kobuleti Municipality

The EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental  Protection and Agriculture of Georgia organised a concluding briefing in Kobuleti Municipality, which is one of the ten most vulnerable municipalities selected for the seven-year program, within the framework of the project "Reducing the Risk of Climate-Driven Disasters in Georgia."

The participants of the meeting received comprehensive information on the project "Reducing the risk of climate change disasters in Georgia", the implementation of which will help expand the early warning system in the country, introduce a national system for natural disaster management and reduce the risk factors for climate-driven disasters. The causes of climate-driven disasters and natural disasters were also discussed at the meeting. 

Tamar Aladashvili, Director of the EIEC, spoke extensively about the need of incorporating schools and preschools in disaster-related educational initiatives.

During the meeting, participants discussed the current actions in these areas and expressed their willingness to join in future events, since environmental issues are always of great interest to students.

The program "Climate Driven Disaster Risk Reduction in Georgia" is supported by the United Nations Development Program and sponsored by the governments of Georgia and Sweden, the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).The project's educational and awareness-raising components are carried out by the EIEC of the  Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture  of Georgia.
