The representatives of the Environmental Information and Education Centre held lectures for the students of the summer school organized by Marneuli N2 public school. The Summer School, which is held regularly since 2017, is mostly represented by the ethnic minorities. In 2019, the school was dedicated to environmental problems along with the other important issues.
During two days, using theoretical and practical activities, the representatives of the centre were providing information for schoolchildren about the important issues such as general environmental problems, desertification and soil degradation, ambient air pollution, waste management and the importance of biodiversity.
According to the specificity of the season and the municipality, an interactive lecture-seminar on reptiles was also held for schoolchildren. They received information about the importance of the reptiles, their behaviour, and the species of the snakes distributed in Georgia. The schoolchildren were also provided with information brochures in which the recommended and non-recommended rules of behaviour with reptiles are represented in details.
