Teaching process in the School of Eco-leaders is conducted remotely

Teaching process in the School of Eco-leaders is conducted remotely. For the young people interested in environmental topics, programmed webinars are conducted on such principal issues as climate change and ambient air policy, the importance of biodiversity and mechanisms for protecting it.

The webinar on climate change was led by MS Nino Tkhilava, Head of the Environment and Climate Change Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, who emphasized negative results of climate change, the role of humans and expected threats. She also spoke about the importance of multilateral environmental agreements and obligations taken by the State. The representatives of the School of Eco-leader have been informed about the approaches and tools to combat climate change.

The second speaker of the webinar, representative of the non-governmental organization - Nacres Mr Kakha Artsivadze, spoke about the role of Georgian biodiversity, conservation and mechanisms to protect biodiversity. Eco-leaders were especially interested in the current condition of biodiversity and ongoing activities. After the speeches, the discussion continued in the interactive format.

In the School of Eco-Leaders online seminars will last one month, and it will give the young people the in-depth knowledge accordingly to both theoretical and practical aspects of the most popular and interesting environmental topics.

Considering the threat caused by Covid-19 pandemic, the Environmental Information and Education Centre of the Ministry of Environmental Information and Education Centre remains to conduct educational activities remotely.
