The Eiec organized a working meeting as part of the project "Reducing the risk of climate-driven disasters in Georgia." Local mayors, community organizations, and corporate sector representatives attended the working meeting. The conference was attended by representatives from ten target municipalities (Gori, Telavi, Akhmeta, Sighnaghi, Lagodekhi, Samtredia, Abasha, Senaki, Khobi, and Kobuleti).

The meeting's participants, together with project specialists, examined problems surrounding the public-private partnership approach to disaster risk management and established the major aims of local community assistance programs.

The United Nations Development Program implements the Climate Change  Disaster Risk Reduction Program in Georgia, which is sponsored by the Georgian government, the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Swiss government, and the Swedish government (UNDP). Meetings held as part of the program enable municipal officials better understand their roles and responsibilities in disaster risk management and mitigation.
