Training was held for certified technicians in the refrigeration equipment and air conditioning sectors

Under the auspices of the United Nations Development Program and the Joint Program of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, "Action Plan for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol in Georgia," professional training was provided for certified refrigeration and air conditioning technicians, customs officers, and environmental inspectors. Reducing emissions of ozone-depleting substances and fluorinated greenhouse gases into the atmosphere depends on their qualifications.

The training included both theoretical and practical teachings on vital themes such as national law and legislation concerning ozone depleting compounds, alternative technologies and energy saving measures, and equipment safety.

The training was organized by the Eiec of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

"The Eiec certifies refrigeration technicians. "As a result, it is critical for us to support their professional growth, capacity building, and give information on advancements in this area, in order to further popularise their field of work," said Tamar Aladashvili, Director of the Eiec.

The "Montreal Protocol Action Plan in Georgia" has been implemented since 2009 and promotes the implementation / reduction of the obligations under the Montreal Protocol, in particular, the use of ozone-depleting substances.
