National Inventory of Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Representatives of the national, non-governmental institutions and environmental protection expert groups were hosted by the Environmental Information and Education Centre (EIEC) at a remote working group session on greenhouse gas emissions, which aspired to familiarize stakeholders and general public on outcomes of national inventory of sectoral greenhouse gas emissions and future plans.

Throughout the remote session, national Inventory of the greenhouse gas emissions in Georgia spanning
1990 – 2017 has been scrutinized from an angle of outcomes and general processes. Attendees were also familiarized with primary outcomes of the respective inventory efforts for the period of 2016 – 2017, that have influenced energy, industry, waste management, agriculture, land use and forestry sectors.

The working meeting has been hosted through the support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) within the framework of the project  “Fourth National Communication and Second Biennial Update Report to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
