An online conference on the introduction of continuing environmental education was held

An online conference was conducted to introduce the concept of continual environmental education.

Representatives of the United Nations Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organisation (UNESCO), as well as representatives of EU member and partner countries, discussed environmental skills and inclusive social development at an online conference.

Tamar Aladashvili, Director of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia's Eiec, presented at the conference about the ongoing efforts in Georgia to promote continuous environmental education.

The environmental education program for preschoolers has already been implemented across the country. Environmental and agricultural education are now being integrated into the classroom environment. Teaching environmental education to children at a young age has the effect of establishing the appropriate values in this area. Climate change and agriculture's response to it are two of the world ’s most challenging issues today. That is why the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture's Eiec is working to develop a climate-smart agriculture curriculum; "Training courses are also being actively conducted, which promotes the development of green businesses and the training of relevant specialists," Tamar Aladashvili said.

The International Week is organized by the European Training Foundation (ETF) and UNESCO in cooperation with the EBRD, ILO, and UNICEF.
