The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched a program in Georgia for establishing a high-quality system of vocational education and training (VET) in agriculture and the extension services for farmers. The UNDP has hosted a meeting for staffers of the LEPL Environmental Information and Education Centre (EIEC) under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MEPA), aiming at deepening knowledge, enhancing team work skills and fostering cooperation linkages between the EIEC and UNDP.
The opening remarks were delivered by Ms Nino Tandilashvili, Deputy Minister of MEPA, who dwelled on the importance of cooperation between the UNDP and MEPA. Throughout the sessions, EIEC’s units delivered the respective presentations on commenced activities in 2019 and plans for 2020. The EIEC’s staff members had also been empowered to scrutinize possibilities for implementing new programs in cooperation with the UNDP.
