At the Eiec of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the meeting was held with the Turkish cooperation and coordination agency (TIKA). The aim of the meeting was to summarize the training conducted for the employees and also forms of future cooperation were discussed.
With the support of the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), up to 40 employees of various units of the Ministry underwent training in 2019, both in Georgia and in Turkey.
Ms. Nejla Demirdag, Head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency's Tbilisi Program, spoke about the future forms of cooperation between the Ministry and the Agency during the meeting. According to her, the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency has defined 2019-2020 as the year of agricultural promotion and will continue to focus on the qualification of Georgian Ministry of Agriculture staff in 2020. According to Ms. Nejla, the agency is considering expanding its collaboration with the Eiec in the future.
The Eiec's leadership, the National Food Agency, the Agricultural Laboratory, the Agricultural Research Center, and the training participants all attended the conference.
