The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia will organize the 8th Plenary Session of the National Forest Program on December 14, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., as part of the project "Sustainable Forest Management for Rural Development," which is funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation Session.
The plenary session of the National Forest Program has been held since 2013, during which the actions taken in the forest sector during the year and planned for the future will be discussed. At the 8th Plenary Session, the Department of Biodiversity and Forestry will present information on a new project funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) (supported by the German Government, the Government of Switzerland and the Government of Georgia). Accounting results. The plenary session will discuss the implemented and current legislative innovations, the issues of nomination of the first biosphere reserve in Georgia, as well as innovations and achievements in the field of forest management. The second part of the meeting will focus on donor coordination issues in the forest sector.
Representatives of the Department of Biodiversity and Forestry of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, as well as the staff of the National Forestry Agency, the LEPL Agency of Protected Areas and the Department of Environmental Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, will make presentations to the interested public.
