The Eeic had submitted the annual report of the current working plan for 2021 to the committee of environmental protection and natural resources

The annual current working plan report and preparations for 2021 were presented to the legislature by Solomon Pavliashvili, Georgia's deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, and Eiec Director Tamar Aladashvili.

The Eiec is an agency with an important mandate, acting as a mediator between environmental policy-makers and implementers, and providing strategies, legislation, or policies to target groups that are easily accessible to the general public. The agency performs its operations in line with the principles of the Aarhus Convention and Georgian legislation, which is a special  document among environmental conventions. "The Eiec  aims and functional burden are expanding, and it is actively trying to promote both environmental and agricultural education, as well as community participation in environmental decision-making," Solomon Pavliashvili stated.

The Eiec began teaching environmental and agricultural themes in schools after the successful launch of the preschool environmental education program across the country, according to the conference. In order to integrate the Environmental and Agrarian Education in Schools program into school space in 2021, the Eiec has already educated 1,800 primary school teachers. This year's teacher training is also going strong. The project will last over four years and will cover the whole country of Georgia. The program's integration into the educational environment will help in the establishment of appropriate environmental values for future generations, as well as the acquisition of basic agricultural knowledge.

The Eiec offers free capacity-building training to farmers, agrarian students, and those interested in the field.

The Eiec is also actively working to strengthen vocational schools. In order to popularise the sectoral professions, educational programs for adults have been developed, their accreditation process is underway, which will help train forest-tax collectors, environmental managers, and climate-smart agriculture specialists.
