April 23 is the International Book Day

To highlight the importance of books, to  promote book reading and promote education, UNESCO established International Book Day in 1995.

The EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia organised a meeting with the students of the "Millennium School" in Tbilisi.

Lela Razikashvili, a descendant of Vazha-Pshavela and the head of Vazha Phshavelas foundation, spoke about the value of Vazha's writings and read some poetry and stories from his works to the students at a gathering with young people.

The main purpose of the celebration of International Book Day by the EIEC is to popularise books created on environmental issues.
