EIEC starts working on creating environmental and agricultural education textbooks for VII–XII grade students.
The workshop, which was attended by field experts and teachers, discussed the main criteria, topics, and concepts of the textbook. The textbooks will be in line with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science and with ongoing education reforms and existing standards. After the handbook development, EIEC will begin a large-scale process involving the training of VII-XII grade teachers and school representatives.
It is worth noting that, from 2021, the process of introducing the programme "Environmental and Agrarian Education in Schools" in grades I–VI is actively and successfully underway. In order to integrate environmental and agrarian education into schools, the centre has retrained 2,600 primary school teachers.Through retraining in relevant textbooks, the programme has strengthened the capacity of teachers across the country, and thousands of students are studying important issues such as sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, water conservation, air pollution, climate-driven disasters, natural hazard and disaster risk reduction, land management, and waste management. Desertification, agriculture, food safety, and quality. Teacher training continues actively this year as well.
The workshop was organised by the EIEC in the framework of the project "Reducing climate-driven risk disasters."
