Study at Ecolider School has started

The training course was opened by Tamar Aladashvili, the director of the EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental  Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

"The School of Ecoliders is one of the most significant and distinguished programs aimed at engaging young people in environmental concerns, raising environmental consciousness in society, and establishing environmental values. The training programme is marked by the ability to learn about a variety of current and relevant environmental issues as well as listen to expert speakers' perspectives. "I am confident that the knowledge gained at the EcoLider School, as well as the relationships formed here, will provide a very good foundation for young people to be actively involved in dealing with environmental challenges in the country, and, more importantly, to become disseminators of environmental knowledge and information throughout Georgia," Tamar Aladashvili said.

Students in grades IX-XII will study where and when the environmental movement began, as well as environmental human rights, will get acquainted with  the necessity of waste management and best practices, biodiversity and protected areas, climate change, environmental education, and public relations, and The role of environmental education and public relations in protecting the environment.

375 students from all over Georgia expressed their desire to participate in the School of Ecoliders in 2022. Based on the contest, 62 students were able to get into the School of Ecoliders.

The training course will last for two months. Field visits will be organized in addition to theoretical instruction. Representatives from the EIEC and guest experts will provide the lectures. The ZOOM platform will be used to implement "School of Ecoliders 2022."

The "School of Ecoliders" is a curriculum developed by the EIEC for Environmental Information and Education with the goal of teaching environmental concerns to youth and raising their awareness.
