Thematic public discussions are underway on the draft of the Fourth National Program of Environmental Actions of Georgia (2022-2026) (NEAP 4). Public hearings are conducted by the EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia in an online format, and any interested person can participate in them.
Topics for public discussion include: ambient air protection; climate change; waste and chemical management; water resources and the Black Sea environment; biodiversity and protected areas; forest management, environmental management, natural hazards and risk management, nuclear and soil safety protection, environmental education.
The goal of these discussions is to encourage public participation in the drafting process and to allow people to express their thoughts and ideas.
In coordination with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, and with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Government of Sweden, the fourth National Environmental Action Plan for Georgia (NEAP 4) for 2022–2026 was developed.
The Georgian National Environmental Action Program is the country's main strategic document in the field of environment and natural resource protection, defining the field's long-term strategic priorities as well as the relevant action plan.
