Webinar "The Role of Bees in the Ecosystem"

May 20 is World Bee Day. The EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia held a webinar on "Bee Role in the Ecosystem" for students and interested young people on the occasion of World Bee Day.

The youngsters were informed about the bee family and also received recommendations in case of bee sting.

Bees play a crucial role in food security as well as human health. The primary goal of World Bee Day is to enhance public awareness about bees' importance in the ecosystem.

There are different species of bees in the world. Georgian (mountain grey) bees are an example of the Caucasus' distinctive biodiversity, which includes unique properties such as long proboscis, climatic resilience, and the capacity to generate enormous amounts of propolis and honey. Georgian (mountain grey) bees have received three gold medals at international shows in various years due to their quality.
