The EIEC organized a training for the representatives of regional media within the framework of the project "Reducing the Risk of Climate-Driven Disasters in Georgia."
Representatives from local media outlets, including those from eleven target municipalities, attended the meeting (Gori, Telavi, Akhmeta, Signagi, Lagodekhi, Samtredia, Abasha, Senaki, Khobi, and Kobuleti).
At the meeting, participants discussed the role of the media, including information campaigns, in providing maximum information to the general public on the mitigation of climate-driven disaster risks. During the training, media representatives were introduced to environmental rights and duties.
.Georgia's Climate-Driven Disaster Risk Reduction program is funded by the Georgian government, the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Swiss government, and the Swedish government. The program is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
