Georgia is the winner of the "VET Excellence Award" for Outstanding Achievement in Vocational Education! The winner was announced by a public vote as part of European Vocational Skills Week 2022, organized by the European Commission.

The program of the EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia "Environmental and Agricultural Education at School" won the European Skills Contest in the Green Skills category of the European Training Foundation (ETF).

The VET Excellence Award brings together a diverse group of corporate and public organizations, schools, and vocational training institutes from throughout Europe to share their experiences and success stories in a number of disciplines and to promote and honor best practices.

The European Commission's European Professional Skills Week was held from 16-20 May. This year, the main theme of the week was vocational education and the transition to a green economy, in line with the European Commission's commitments and the goals of the European Green Deal.

The process of introducing the program "Environmental and Agricultural Education in Schools" started in Georgia in 2021. A support manual for teachers, "Environmental and Agricultural Education at School," was prepared at the EIEC. The textbook covers important issues in environmental and agrarian education that are easily adapted for primary school students (grades I–VI). Young people learn about topics like sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, water resource protection, air pollution, climate change, natural disaster mitigation, waste management, land management, desertification, sustainable agriculture, and the quality of sustainable agriculture through the program.
