An "Environmental Manager" training course was held

At the EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, "the environmental manager" course was held. This course supports upgrading skills for employees in the field of waste management.

The aim of the training course "The Environmental Manager" is to retrain the relevant staff in accordance with the requirements imposed by the law and international standards. In 2019, about 100 interested people passed through Tbilisi and the regions, and most of them are employed in this direction. Successful completion of the course. Participants were awarded certificates.

"Waste Management Code" Companies that generate more than 200 tons of non-hazardous waste, 1000 tons of inert waste, or any amount of hazardous waste per year are required to have an "environmental manager" in charge of waste management.

With the initiative of the EIEC for "the environmental manager", the relevant module has been implemented, that is, taking into account all requirements existing in the field of waste management. Any interested person or candidate presented by companies can participate in the learning course.

The learning course "The Environmental Manager" began in 2015. Within the framework of the course, 400 employees were retrained, and all of them are able to prepare the company's waste management plan and renew it. To organise an implementation in the field of waste management regarding the fulfilment of Georgian legislation requirements for self-monitoring and inner control.
