The "Global Climate Change and Georgia: Risks and Challenges" student conference was held

On the initiative of the EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), the environmental student conference - "Global Climate Change and Georgia: Risks and Challenges" was held. 

The conference was opened by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Solomon Pavliashvili, and the rector of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), Maka Ioseliani.

"Climate change is one of the most critical challenges facing Georgia and the modern world," Solomon Pavliashvili remarked, "When we talk about climate change and the solutions to this issue, we should not forget that it is crucial to improve young people's awareness and support their involvement in environmental topics.."

Students from environmental and ecological fields took part in the event: from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), Iakob Gogebashvili of Telavi State University, and Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University.

The students' reports on climate change were evaluated by a specially created commission, winners were identified, and certificates were awarded.

Procredit Bank, Adjara Group, CENN, and REC Caucasus were the event's partners. Their favorites received special awards.

The meeting was attended by Tamar Aladashvili, director of the EIEC, Kakha Artsivadze, head of GIPA's Environmental Management and Policy Master's Program, and invited guests.
