A coordination council was created in order to improve the coordination of environmental education events

The Environmental Education Coordinating Council was created in the EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

The purpose of creating the Environmental Education Coordinating Council is to improve the coordination of environmental education events planned throughout the country. Organisations will be able to reach more target audience or areas,by implementing the practise of collaboration,conducting joint campaigns on related topics,which will improve the efficiency of the financial resources devoted to information campaigns.  

The first meeting was opened by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Solomon Pavliashvili, the Deputy Minister spoke about the importance of coordinating council and environmental education.

‘’Due to the complexity of topics  related to environmental protection and  its tight connections to other  sectors, as well as the abundance and variety of target groups, it is crucial to improve the planning and structuring of awareness-raising efforts’’ said Solomon Pavliashvili.

Within the framework of the council, an information-sharing platform will be created that will give the opportunity to the organisations implementing projects to share information about their planned events and also receive information on activities planned by other organisations.
