Mimoza Gholijashvili, a chosen teacher for the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, of Georgia received the "Green Award"

The Director of the EIEC under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Tamar Aladashvili, for the promotion of environmental education, presented the 2022 "Green Award" to Mimoza Gholijashvili, a civic education and citizenship teacher at the Khidistavi village public school in Gori Municipality.

Since 2017, the EIEC has been participating in the "Teacher's National Award" event and, on behalf of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, presents the "Green Award" to a teacher who has implemented significant environmental activities.

Environmental education is one of the top priorities in the world. Due to the importance of introducing environmental education in schools, the EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia is responsible for carrying out a number of significant projects in this area. Without the participation of enthusiastic instructors, we believe that none of the initiatives and projects will be successful. The  Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia has been presenting the "National Teachers Award'' with the "Green Award" to participants who actively work in the environmental sector and care about increasing student awareness for the past six years. We hope that more educators will be drawn to this crucial sector in the future and the Ministry will definitely not leave them behind, "said Tamar Aladashvili.

The "Teacher's National Award" is a contest of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia that is held every year on October 5, International Teacher's Day. In 2022, within the framework of the contest, Roland Shavadze, an English language teacher at the Mekeidzeebi public school in the Khulo municipality, became the best teacher in the country.
