At the meeting the parties discussed the topics of improving the quality of higher education in forestry and deepening cooperation and communication in the scientific field.the meeting was opened by the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Solomon Pavliashvili and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nunu Mitkevich.
"The forest in Georgia has exceptional national worth and serves as a constant source of resources and advantages to the people, both directly and indirectly." As a result, we must create a system of sustainable forest management that guarantees the preservation of social, ecological, and economic balance as well as the wise distribution of resources. that "to achieve these aims, it is vital to have highly skilled, competent employees and to carry out large-scale scientific research." The meeting was held within the framework of the National Forestry Program, organised by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia with the support of the German International Cooperation Society (GIZ) project, ECO. Georgia. The ECO.Georgia project is funded by the Green Climate Fund and the governments of Georgia, Germany, and Switzerland. The project's goal is to reduce pressure on forests and forest loss in Georgia through sustainable forest management and conservation, while also promoting the development of the market for energy-efficient and alternative energy technologies and strengthening the capabilities of communities near forests and local governments.
