Under the organisation of the EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the student conference "Environmental Education and Sustainable Development" was held.
The winners were revealed and awards were given out at the conference. Mariam Furtsvanidze and Lali Balavadze, two Akaki Tsereteli State University students, won the contest. Giorgi Kavteladze, an Ilia State University student, placed second, while Inga Gognadze, an Akaki Tsereteli State University student, placed third.
The purpose of the event is to promote the involvement of young people in environmental issues, as well as identify challenges and promote opportunities in the mentioned process.
Master's and undergraduate students interested in studying environmental topics took part in the student conference. Speakers talked about the role of environmental education in the implementation of sustainable development goals.
The conference was held within the framework of the project "Governance Reform Fund" (GRF), with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Swedish government.
