Tamar Aladashvili the director of EIEC under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia awarded the authors of the best essay of the contest ‘’My voluntary role in environmental protection’’.
The contest winner is Elene Sajaia, a student from the 10th public school in Abkhazeti. The second place was taken by Rezi Dgebuadze, a student of the 4th public school of Tbilisi, and Mariam Arabuli, a student of the Lafanaantkari public school, took the third place.
Vouchers for equipment were given to the winning students.
The purpose of the contest is to promote an integrated perception of environmental challenges among young people and the formation of environmentally friendly behaviours and attitudes.
As part of the contest, students had to submit their work about volunteer activities. Essays were evaluated by a specially created commission according to predetermined criteria.
With the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Government of Sweden, the EIEC has announced a contest for students interested in environmental issues as part of the "Governance Reform Fund" project (GRF).
