In order to familiarise students with the outcomes of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, a conference was conducted

Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Nino Tandilashvili, and Chairman of the Georgian Green Movement/Friends of the Earth-Georgia, Nino Chchobadze, presented the results of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to students interested in the issue.

It should be emphasised that the processes produced by global climate change and methods of mitigating them were the main topics of discussion at the 27th conference of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

"It should be noted that current issues and challenges were discussed at the conference, and in preparation, the Georgian delegation actively participated." One of the most important decisions is the creation of a "loss and damage fund" for climate change, which should provide compensation for economic damage caused by climate change. According to the decision, a transitional management committee will be established to determine the policy of the fund. "From a long-term perspective, the mentioned fund provides the possibility of access to additional financing for developing countries, including said Nino Tandilashvili.

The results of the meeting were presented to the youth by representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and non-governmental organisations that participated in the conference.

The meeting was organised by the EIEC of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the Green Movement of Georgia/Friends of the Earth-Georgia, within the framework of the project "Strengthening Civil Society in the Implementation of the National Climate Policy."
