The preschool environmental program presentation was submitted by the EIEC. The event was opened by the Director of EIEC, Tamar Aladashvili.
The preschool environmental education program was renewed based on the research of environmental education program outcomes. The current manual was assessed positively at the research stage, However, certain needs were identified, both in terms of content and required resources. With the updated program, the training of educators and methodologists for preschool institutions will start next year.
Under the updated program, climate change issues will be added to the topics of biodiversity, water resources, and waste management. The guide includes practical examples of how to raise environmental awareness.
The preschool environmental education program aims to raise the awareness of kindergarten teachers/methodologists and early-age children in the field of environmental education and, in the process, to develop community and family importance and civic responsibility. The renewal of the preschool environmental education program was carried out with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Swedish government within the framework of the project "Governance Reform Fund (GRF)".
