EIEC, under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, renewed the teacher retraining process within the "Environmental and Agricultural Education in Schools" program.
In order to support environmental and agricultural education, EIEC actively works for primary teacher retraining. More than 3800 teachers have been retrained. The program is helping teachers strengthen their capacities.
Students are learning about issues such as sustainable development, biodiversity protection, water resource protection, pollution-free air, reducing the risk of climate-driven disasters, waste management, land management, combating desertification, agriculture, and food safety. These approaches help students understand their responsibility for environmental issues.
The certificates and textbooks, "Environmental and Agricultural Education in Schools," will be given to the retrained teachers. After completing the training, teachers will receive an email, approved by the LEPL of the teacher professional development national center, stating that 20 hours of mandatory training have been completed.
