The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia's Eiec sponsored an information meeting entitled "Clean Air-Let's take responsibility together.’’ in the Rustavi Culture and Recreation Park as part of the Rustavi Air Quality Improvement Action Plan. The conference was attended by representatives from local school eco clubs to increase environmental awareness regarding air quality and environmental concerns.
The meeting was opened by Tamar Aladashvili, Director of the Eiec of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, and Nino Latsabidze, a majoritarian MP from Rustavi. Tamar Aladashvili spoke about the ongoing activities related to air protection issues and environmental challenges in Rustavi conducted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
At the information meeting, Tamar Aladashvili presented the idea contest "Fresh Air-Let's Take Responsibility Together." The aim of the competition is to provide information to schoolchildren about the challenges related to air pollution, ways to solve it, and ongoing reforms, including the Rustavi Air Quality Program, and to raise their awareness. Students will have the opportunity to engage in important activities themselves. The 2 winning schools will be awarded prizes for implementing the submitted ideas.
