March 21 is International Forest Day and World Down Syndrome Day

 ‘’The role of forest for human health’’ is the main message from the international day of Forests in 2023.

Within the celebration of the International Day of Forests, EIEC organised the lecture for students from public school N45 in Tbilisi. Students were informed about the importance of forests regarding health and the environment, Georgian forests, the roles of forests, the types of forests, and wood and non-wood resources. After the students did the fieldwork and got acquainted with the technical processes of forest inventory, they studied the methodology through which the national forest inventory is carried out throughout the country.

The meeting was held within the project "Support for the Implementation of Forest Sector Reform in Georgia (ECO.Georgia). The project is implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, with the involvement of subordinate agencies of the Ministry.
