March 22 is World Water Day

The topic of 2023 world water day is „Supporting the changes to solve the water and sanitation crisis’’ that underlines the importance of taking decisive action to solve the global water crisis.

Within the World Water Day celebration, an informational meeting was held in the laboratory of ambient air, water, and soil analysis of the National Environment Agency, organised by EIEC, for students of the N178 public school in Tbilisi.

The hydrochemical tests of wastewater and surface water, and the detection of basic ions, biogenic elements, and heavy metals were explained to the students. They then performed their own chemical investigations to assess the water quality.

At the Technical University of Georgia, as part of the celebration of World Water Day, a forum was held where the head of the Water Division of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mariam Makarova, gave a speech to the students about the importance of water.

The event was attended by Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Tamar Aladashvili, Director of the EIEC, Nino Chhobadze, Chairman of the non-governmental organisation "The Greens Movement of Georgia/Friends of the Earth—Georgia," and a representative of "Tbilservi Group" Ltd.
