On April 22, "Earth Day" is celebrated worldwide

Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970 when the public in the United States began to protest air pollution caused by inefficient vehicles and irresponsible industry.

The lecture was held within the ‘’Earth Day ’’ for students organised by EIEC and the Green School in Tbilisi.

Tamar Aladashvili, the Director of EIEC, informed the students about the importance of environmental issues.

‘’Raising awareness about environmental issues is a priority for us, and that awareness is formed in early childhood. Celebrating this day with students and their involvement in environmental activities is crucial.  We talked to young people about how to take care of the earth. Their interest and involvement in environmental activities are welcome", said Tamar Aladashvili.

In connection with "Earth Day," the students, after the meeting, planted saplings in the schoolyard.

Within the mentioned day, the Greens Movement of Georgia/Friends of the Earth-Georgia organised a cleaning action in all municipalities of Georgia.
