The training "Environmental Responsibility System" will be held for representatives of the business sector and interested young people on April 28 at 10:00 in the conference room of the EIEC.
The training gives an opportunity to receive more information regarding the environmental responsibility system, the Georgian law, and the procedures related to its implementation, considering practical examples.
Since 2021, the law on environmental responsibility has been approved. This law, which is based on the "polluter pays principle'' is widely spread in Europe, and requires businesses and other organizations to restore the environment to its pre-damage condition and to contribute the necessary financial resources. The aforementioned legislation provides for a number of changes and processes in which government officials and representatives from the private sector collaborate.
The training will be conducted by practicing experts who directly took part in the development of the law and are also involved in its enforcement. The training is organized and will be conducted by EIEC and within the ongoing project "Governance Reform Fund," with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Sweden.
The contact person regarding the mentioned training is the representative of EIEC Salome Pipia (Email address:salome.pipia@eiec.gov.ge).
