At the information meeting, EIEC provided students of higher education institutions and university representatives with information on the requirements for obtaining certificates.
The Green Scholarships Program, operated by EIEC promotes environmental shortage occupations and encourages excellent students. Within the program, the students will have an opportunity to get practical experience in relevant agencies.
The information meetings were held at Ivane Javakhishvili State University, Ilia State University, Georgian Technical University, Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, Akaki Tsereteli State University, Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, Shota Rustaveli Batumi State University in Batumi, and Sokhumi State University.
Scholarships apply to the following master's programmes: geology, integrative management of water resources (hydrology), ecology, environmental protection and engineering ecology, physical geography and environmentally sustainable development, Management of energetic and mineral resources, constructive geography (practical geography), and environmental management and policy.
In 2022, 1,500 GEL "green scholarships" were awarded to 32 excellent master's students.
The ‘’Green Scholarships’’ are developed by EIEC, under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, within the large-scale programme ‘’Reducing the Risk of Climate-Driven Disasters in Georgia," by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), by the Green Climate Fund (GCF), and with support by the governments of Georgia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
