The study course "School of Eco Leaders" for 2023 has started at the EIEC under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
Ekaterine Bendeliani, the deputy director of the EIEC, opened the training course at the Ecoleader School.
"Ecoleaders' school programme offers young people a chance to learn about a variety of current and interesting environmental topics." According to Ekaterine Bendeliani, "This school is one of the most significant projects of the centre, which aims to interest young people in environmental issues and to form environmental values."
Students in classes IX–XII, within the curriculum, will receive information about sustainable development goals, human ecological rights, the importance of waste management, protected areas, biodiversity, climate change, sustainable forest management, and environmental education.
Based on the contest, 69 students were able to get into the "School of Eco Leaders" throughout Georgia in 2023.
The training course will last two months. Along with theoretical training, Field trips will also be planned in addition to the theoretical instruction. Lectures will be held by representatives of the EIEC and by invited specialists. "School of Eco Leaders" will be provided remotely on the Zoom platform.
