On June 7, World Food Safety Day was celebrated on a large scale in Georgia

Georgia celebrated Food Safety Day with several activities. The event was conducted with the support of EIEC, food and agriculture organisations of the United Nations (FAO), and the Czech Development Agency.

During the event, the guests had the opportunity to observe the exhibition and sale of Georgian agriculture products and to get acquainted with the technical equipment of the National Food Agency In the park of Rikhe.

Fun and instructive events were arranged for kids and teenagers with the help of the Czech Development Agency, the Centre for Environmental Information and Education, and other partners.

World Food Safety Day is celebrated under the initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) each year on June 7 since 2019. The main message of this year is ‘’Food standards save lives."

To celebrate World Food Day, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Kakha Kakabadze, Chairman of the Parliament's Agrarian Issues Committee Nino Tsilosani, Representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Georgia Raimund Yale, Representative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Silvio Domente, and representatives of the EU delegation were present.
