The selected teacher of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture was awarded the "Green Award"

For the promotion of environmental education, the Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia  Solomon Pavliashvili, awarded The teacher of Georgian language and literature from Marneuli municipality, Maradisi village, and Kasumlo village public schools, Lamara Bolkvadze,  the 2021 "Green Award," a letter of thanks, and a memorable gift.

The Eiec has been participating in the National Teacher Award since 2017 and, on behalf of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, will present the Green Award to a teacher who has carried out significant environmental activities.

"The Eiec of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia is implementing a number of important projects to increase the importance of environmental education and to increase the level of knowledge in this area. However, no initiative or project will have a proper result if it does not involve a motivated and qualified teacher who will be able to teach these important issues properly, "-said Solomon Pavliashvili.

According to Tamar Aladashvili, Director of the Eiec, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia has awarded the Green Award to teachers who are actively working in the field of environmental education and developing student awareness for the fifth year in a row. The Environmental Information and Education Centre's major purpose is to promote environmental education.

The "National Teacher Award" is a competition of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, which is held annually on October 5, International Teacher's Day. In 2021, within the framework of the contest, the best teacher in the country,   became Khatuna Razmadze, a math teacher from St. George International School, and  was awarded by the Minister of Education and Science, Mikheil Chkhenkeli.
