The third stage of training for beekeepers begins

From July 11 to July 31 of this year, the third stage of training for beekeeping farmers will begin with the organization of the EIEC, the Rural Development Agency, and the Association of Beekeepers of Georgia.

The third stage of the training module covers the following topics:

• Safe use of fuel

• Showing the Varroa test, analysing the results, and choosing the measure or method against the pest

• Division of bee families into open hive and closed hive families

• Mountaineering: preparing the family for trekking

• Removing honeycomb frames using a ringer or blower

• Identification of diseases, use of the Holst method, ascospherosis

• Use of pheromones against pheasants

• Honey pressing and storage conditions

• Registration of the apiary, filling in the registration sheet
Training will be held in all municipalities in Georgia.
The training will be conducted by beekeeping specialists.

In the first stage of beekeeper training, in 2022, about 1,000 beekeepers were trained, and in 2023, within the second phase of training, 1,105 beekeepers were trained. Beekeeping farmers from different regions of Georgia took part in the training. Along with theoretical training, farmers were also given practical training on modern pest control methods and relevant environmental measures.
