The Green Camp "Climate Ambassadors" has ended

50 young people successfully completed the Green Camp "Climate Ambassadors" of the Environmental Information and Education Centre under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. The young people selected on the basis of the contest represented different regions of Georgia, including 13 target municipalities of the program "Reducing the risk of climate-driven disasters in Georgia".

The topics of biodiversity, sustainable forestry resource management, hydrological and geological hazards, disaster risk reduction, hazard assessment, and risk identification were covered by field experts working with the Green Camp participants. The participants of the camp received information about the activities of the Department of Geology and Hydrometeorology, current and planned activities, and observation systems used for weather forecasting and early warning.
Certificates were given to the "Climate Ambassadors" green camp attendees by Tamar Aladashvili, director of the Environmental Information and Education Centre.

The Green Camp "Climate Ambassadors" was organized by the Environmental Information and Education Centre under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia within the large-scale initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) "Reducing the Risk of Climate-Driven Disasters Caused by Climate Change in Georgia", which serves to protect the population of Georgia from disasters caused by climate change and is implemented with the support of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the governments of Georgia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
